Pop quizzes, midterm, and final are your entire grade. Lectures are horrendous and all your learning needs to come out of the book. If you're looking for a party school, Truman is not what you're looking for. As long as you actually do the homework problems he gives out and attend every class period you can do fine. She's pretty nice as a person, but not a great teacher.
But the man can't teach.
Okay there are too many ratchet comments for this decent guy. Tests are difficult and about what's in the book. Small and peaceful lovely and almost all the professors are friendly and kind.
He gives an exact outline of what will be on each test and how the questions will be set up.
Dr O'Brien is amazing!!!
Regardless of what people say about him, Ramberg is a decent professor.
Goes completely off the book. This was my research course, and after having him I could not feel more prepared for senior sem and beyond. If you have the option of taking him for 202, you better do it.

Dr. O'Brien is one of the best chemistry teachers. Ole Andy was a good teacher, sometimes a little hard to understand but did demonstrate an interest in the students learning the material. If you try to talk with him and ask questions he won't alter a grade, he is always right even if you can prove him wrong.
For the first one he didn't tell us what he expected so it was a learning curve. Very good about telling you what was on the tests, if you didn't study what he told you thats your problem. He is super nice and quite helpful. Beware of projects (and your teammates).
Ads can be annoying, but they allow us to provide you this resource for free. He is so passionate but spends the whole class doing riddles instead of helping with material. Two tests and a final paper.
A surprisingly unsupportive and unhelpful system of administration, especially given how much they talk about improving mental health support on campus. He doesn't like giving 8/8 on the EC though.
Seriously take any other JINS class. Always willing to lend a helping hand and explain concepts. The most terrible class that I have ever taken. It is kind of hard to understand him sometimes. I genuinely love Truman State, but you have to take the time and effort to find your people here. This was a graduate level course on the Civil Rights Movement. He is really clear in his expectations and presents the material in a way that makes it easy to learn. Tough grader, but is specific on dates and deadlines and how she wants the assignment done. Tests are not that hard if you go to class and do homework. One of those stickler "do it or die" professors that Truman is known for. Prof. Ogden is such a sweet old man. All activities are done from the book and he does not do much explaining. Otherwise nice, but not anything special. You do have to study a lot for his classbut! The way Dr. Bob talks about human interactions with nature will change your entire outlook on agriculture. Dr. Palmer is clearly passionate about his field, but sometimes he struggles to convey it to the students clearly.
Made his TA do literally all of his work. Very fun class if you're into a more abstract approach. He doesn't believe in multiple choice, so tests are all short answer and essay response.
Avoid at all costs, class isn't terrible just discussion boards and Exam papers but he will change how he grades periodically, but won't tell you. It's hard to sit through lectures most days unless you participate. Dr. Ramberg has very clear instructions for lab write-ups; however, during lab, he is not very helpful.

Her lectures are easy to understand and she promotes in-class discussions.
Dr. O'Brien would be my number one pick for either Org. Most ppl have access to them, but for those that don't--either bc they have no idea or are taking the class honestly--it's rlly unfair. I went in to talk to him about me passing the class and he was too lazy to tell me what my actual grade is. He only assigns 2 readings a week and pop quizzes which just means theres a quiz for every chapter.
The test are ridiculous and there are so many. Initially I disliked him because he can seem very cold and formal but I warmed up to him the more I interacted with him. Tests were essay tests, she gave you questions that would be on the test and picked 3-5.
This was my second class with him, and I'm taking him again.
He is hard to understand (his terrible accent) but he really wants students to understand the material. Just take Lin , but don't get mad if you hear a "Told Ya SO!!!" Her grading criteria are clear and I highly recommend!! Lectures: laid-back, straight-from-the-book, and sometimes end early! Let me stress however, he does not give everyone A's, but if you take the time to read the book and study, you will succeed. No feedbacks, no clear grading criteria, all you will get is a grade posted on blackboard with no comments. I took this course online with Dr Vittengl. No office hours..which I thought were required?? Reviewing for tests is difficult, just make sure you read the book and take thorough notes in class.
He's very awkward and strict on grading.
He has some amazing puns too. There is a ton of reading that you must do in order to succeed on the exams because he asks very specific & knit picky questions.
This course isn't facts; you are graded on how well you can think for yourself and that's the one thing I like about him. They actually help your grade a lot, and help you retain information!
Class takes a large time commitment. When I went to his class he told me he did not want to help me because he would like to see what I can do on my own no matter how confused I was. Not very available outside of class. I am sure she is a nice person, but I was often confused by her wording and what she was asking for. He sincerely cares about each and every one of his students! Not helpful at all during lab, usually reads or disappears.
He is super passionate about plants and sustainability and genuinely cares for his students. Best professor at Truman State.
She practically hands you an A, but you have to meet her halfway and study the material.
You really have to work on joining a club or other activity to get yourself out and doing something. Terry is extremely scattered in his lectures but he's a nice, funny guy. He also doesn't give exams (besides a take-home final) or papers. Expect the response, "It is what it is.". Definitely need to think deeply about the topic and applications. This is a writing class more than a history course. Tests and quizzes are extremely hard and he gives you few examples to help you prepare. The lectures are all but required in order to pass. Nice guy, the class was easy and you learn a lot. However, his lectures are extremely difficult to follow and his tests/quizzes are ridiculously hard.
OL hw is for completion, verb conjugation is for a grade, both easy and both per exam, due 11:59p night before the test. He only gives example after example in class with little explanation of what is going on. Exam 4 had an avg of 34 with only 5 getting above a 50. Do not recommend for any lecture course.
Her class, though, is rough. I really enjoy Dr. McDonald's history classes, but I wouldn't recommend him for Geography. I don't know how he compares to other teachers but seems pretty easy. Loved her, such a great person. Boring & hard. I can not understand a god damn thing this man says.
If you don't have his old tests, it's hard to do well.

If you miss one class, you're pretty much screwed. Quizzes and Tests are horribly difficult and time allowed is never enough. Student athletes: don't take her.
It's discussion based so if no one talks it's awkward. While Palmer was somewhat approachable during his office hours, the completely disorganized and unstructured format of his notes, tests, and his class as a whole left much to be desired. He does NOT give good feedback.
Even though this was an 8:30 I loved this class. M/C, True/False and Fill in Blank questions are really tough (Read your book for these).
And she gives a lot of extra credit. Ogden is super nice, but is a super tough professor.

He is a very tough grader and uses the Chicago style citations which are very annoying. Class is not bad, but kinda dry and a bit boring.
The shear number of works that you're expected to read and have a working knowledge of for exams can be overwhelming, but you'll be glad you took the class when it's over. I was fine with it because I align fairly far left, but I could see an issue with someone more right or the spectrum. Campus is beautiful, and most people are very friendly. The map quizzes and 3 short papers were simple and straighforward. Dr.Mun is excellent! Gives a lot of homework and he grades papers harshly. I've never worked harder for a B. They require studying though. Truman is definitely the place to focus on your academics, but nothing else.
Every exam has ten points of extra credit built into it and he also offers an additional ten points of extra credit for donating blood, Best of the best in the chemistry department. I've yet to get anything over a 70.
He is the best finance professor at Truman, hands down!
You don't even have to participate in discussion, that's what the talkative people are for.
Class is boring, dull lecture every class. Enthusiastic and interesting Lectures.
He tries to give you the most points on tests and assignments though.
Embrace the fact that this class is individually-oriented, because you will not get a lot of help. He also give plenty of extra credit. He's the best gen chem teacher in the department.
Much of your grade is 2 tests, which are ridiculously hard. Make sure you know that there is a large project that is a big part of your grade.
If you can avoid taking him, do it.
There are only 3 tests in the class and they're HARD.
I wish I could take his class again. He was the worst professor I had at Truman.
Lectures are clear and easy to understand, and he's very approachable. 3 papers-6pg, 8pg, 20pg and one lecture a week, group debates the rest of the week.
Her lectures are half hearted and grading criteria is SO vague. He was always there to help guide and help you actually get the correct answer.

Server dropped me during one of the five exams (10% of grade), and I wasn't allowed to re-take. You read a play for the last month of school, which basically requires minimum effort.
She gives out quite a bit of extra credit, though.
If you read the textbook and do the online homework this class is an easy B.
Dr. Ogden has a fantastic wealth of knowledge to share about Hispanic Literature! funny guy, i actually write down quotes from him to laugh at later!
These quizzes are not hard.
I would not take him for your capstone class. There is one group project. They're all the same basic format and similar to homework (also on the computer) so you'll know what to expect. Great Teacher, one of my favorite in the Psych department.
I haven't had any problems in other history classes. This is NOT a history class it is about research and writing you don't learn a thing not even how he wants you to write the paper.
All you do is activities from the book while in class.
There are many clubs to get involved and thats cool. Terrible support for student's mental health, very boring location, and a way to heavy workload from the professors that the school is overly proud of.
I dreaded going to this class.
He is extremely fair with the class by saying what to expect for quizzes and tests.
This is a mandatory course for History majors, I dropped it twice. Not clear on grading criteria, you'll feel lost a lot of the time. No point in going to lectures. He blames lower scores solely on students.
Expects you to know all the chemistry. Have nothing bad to say about her.
ALL homework and tests are by computer. Do not skip his classes, becasue there are pop up quizzes and he puts in the exams what he explains in class. If you take this course you'll likely have to argue for points. Always answered any questions. Dr. Bob is by far my favorite professor. If you dedicate yourself solely to homework, and NOTHING else, this is the place for you!
Your best bet for getting an A in BSAD 329 (Principles of Finance) is to take it over the summer. Will NOT remind you of deadlines (c'mon guys, this is college.). I learned very little from his class and would warn anyone considering his class to consider your interest in and dedication to the subject matter very carefully.
You can get an A if you work for it. Was a bit inconsistent with posting lectures after class, but he resolved it promptly after feedback. Do the vocab, don't forget about the (mostly participation-based) homework, cram for the test the day of, you'll be fine. Some programs have amazing professors, others do not.
That being said, you learned a lot because you actively engage in the text. This class is graded evenly between 2 tests and the pop quiz grade. The study questions are not specific although the tests are, so you must remember small details. Recommend meeting him during office hours, very helpful explanations on the content. This is an excellent class for people who are just trying to fill their Spanish quota. The prof is nice and easygoing, but vague, and not a great resource if you're struggling. But yeah, lots of reading, and hard grading. This is not the place to be if you have mental health issues or want a "normal" college experience.
