Your solution is so simple and elegant--I was going to epoxy sheet metal to my PVC sheath, but your solution is much better (and modular!). Ok, thanks, and one other thing, for some reason, the bolt keeps hitting the thing in the clip that pushes the darts up, resulting in a jam every time, is there a good way i can prevent this? Fuck, we're depending on you guys to defend us from 3DBBQ, get your shit together already. :). It seems possible, based on the distance that the bolt travels, and the length of a streamline. Anonymous,As mentioned in my guide, the stock stampede plastic breech does not have an air-tight bolt to barrel seal, hence the plastic bolt itself is essentially the barrel.In order for the stock breech system to work, it needs to have a dart paddle blocker door to block the foam dart to allow the stock bolt to sleeve over it during the loading process.But in a brass breech system, the brass bolt itself pushes the stefan into the brass barrel, and when both the brass bolt and barrel connect together they form a 100% air seal for optimal firing power and range. Romperhouse10,To increase the breech gap length, you could shorten the 1/2" and 17/32" brass bolt parts by a few mm, then that could allow the breech to gain slightly more clearance.But doing so may affect the performance as the duration of the bolt to barrel connection would end up shorter, so the bolt may retract and open before the shot is completely fired, this could result in mis-fires and jams.Note that using full length foam darts generally tend to result in more jams when the clearance is too narrow at the front and back of the breech gap, 'cos the foam darts may not advance up in time before the next chambering cycle starts and the bolt starts to close. If its too fast, then just reduce the voltage feed accordingly.As for my brass breech design, its meant for short-length stefans. Use a dremel cut-off wheel instead.
Unknown,The breech gap in my current design is the maximum gap length that i've tested so far to still retain a reliable bolt to barrel seal. Ever thought of using 14mm ID carbon fibre? matamata,Accuracy depends on the type of foam darts used, if you are still using streamline foam darts they they will be even more inaccurate but if you are using custom calibrated foam darts or stefans (after you have done a brass breech conversion), then the accuracy will still remain high. However, before i continue i would like to know if you believe this is just right or too loose. he is testing the cycling without a plunger rod in the video. 
The only problem now is that my gears have stripped lol. Do you use an online seller for your brass? Please keep up the good work. You could also use 17/32" brass barrels too, but note that it would limit your options when using stefans, because you will not be able to use the wider diameter variants (which are more commonly used amongst experienced modders). Alternatively, just visit the hardware or hobby shops around your area, see if you can find them there too.I get my silicone tips and foam through hanzo at the NerfSG forum, who in turn orders in bulk from inform3r at OzNerf forum maybe inform3r is currently busy, so his response is delayed.As for the PVC guide cover, just leave a short section at the back end to be glued to the orange guide ring. Inuyasha,Are both types of those foam darts using narrow tips?Those foam matched with narrow tips should still be usable in this blaster (though Nerf streamline foam tend to be abit too narrow for 9/16" brass barrels, but should still work).Re-check your overall system again to find out which part is causing the foam dart to get stuck in the barrel.Make sure the foam darts are chambered fully into the barrel, not just getting pushed in halfway and the bolt retracting before it gets fired out.Is there anything you did which differ (even slightly) from the steps in my guide?The 17/32" and 1/2" brass section in my brass bolt extends out around 1cm from the 9/16" bolt assembly.The system is designed so that there is the same 1cm amount of nested seal with the 9/16" brass barrel when the breech closes. SG Nerf,I'm wanting to build this for my Stampede however I am concerned about the amount of time that the bolt will have to connect to the barrel, because my Stampede runs off of two 9.6v batteries wired in series for faster rate of fire. 'cos that might cause the foam darts to encounter extra resistance during chambering which might explain the difference in performance.Imho, there could be other things you did on your mod that you didn't indicate which affect it, 'cos the issue seems unique to your unit. :). there might be uneven surfaces in the pipes or tubes causing friction, or the alignment is just slightly off), so the bolt return stroke is abit slower and ends up moving back only halfway before the firing cycle repeats again, hence half-feeding the next stefan and causing jams or double firing.What you can try is to apply grease in between the moving brass and PVC tubes which are in contact with each other, that can help to reduce friction enough to solve those issues. Not via the open breech?If it can only fire in that method, then check that your foam darts are not too wide, as that can sometimes result in them getting stuck in the barrel during the chambering process. T da B,Most likely the position of the brass barrel within your PVC guide cover needs to be moved further back abit so that the brass bolt can reach it to create the seal.I guess when you tested the bolt movement on its own with the casing open (by manually pushing it back and forth), it may look like it can connect, but the actual movement of the bolt during operation could be slightly shorter. I m using the sdl dart n I tried shortened nerf darts. FUBAR,Yeah, any suitable sized pipe or tube can be used i've heard of some modders using stuff like electrical conduit pipes and even plastic tubes from broom handles, i guess anything that can fit will work too. So i m really puzzled what could be wrong with it. When it does work I am getting 120ft flat with an 11kg spring.

That's absolutely fucking shit dick ridiculous. Anonymous, Streamline foam tends to be too narrow and therefore a loose fit in 9/16" brass tubes.As for 17/32" brass tubes, it depends on the batch of the streamline foam, 'cos there seems to be some variation between batches, some can fit but some cannot, so you have to physically test the fit to find out.Note that if you use 17/32" brass tubes as barrels, you'll be limited to only being able to use narrow foam darts.Most modders use 9/16" brass tube for barrels 'cos they can add tightening rings to adapt to narrower foam darts if required, yet still be able to use wider customized foam too, this allows for more flexibility in foam dart usage. Are K&S brass tube measurements quoted in OD are inner Diameter? You can get 14mm ID in Aust for around $20 for 1 mitre. SGN, You. Several functions may not work. But somehow my stampede fire much further when i muzzle feed than when i clip fed the thing. Your help is most appreciated. Thankss! Best performance will be with 3.25-3.5 cm length stefans that have 0.9-1.1 gram tip weight. It's going to shoot half-length darts out of a talon mag.
