My back hurt everywhere and the seat is very narrow (I'm a skinny person with no prior back issues, I'd hate to think how it feels if you're big with back issues) My seat was free due to One World status, I can't honestly say it would be worth paying extra for. Its sad to American transition from delivering brand-new 737s and A321s featuring modern seats with PTVs to bare-boned and low-cost carrier-like seats. While the American 737 fleet features speedy Wi-Fi from Viasat, I was unwilling to fork over the $19 for a flight pass on a 1.5 hour flight, especially since I would be on two flights that day. They are intended to be lively and colorful zones with plants and artwork. Wow, thats very sad to see one luxury airline go to a low-cost one. Some spaces were already used for vending, study carrels, or benches but were cold and uninviting; others were just extra floor area, either part of or adjacent to circulation space. This is the flight back in Main Cabin Extra, which is basically the same Economy Class seat with a bit more legroom. The Main Cabin seats all include a personal device holder, a conveniently placed USB port next to said holder, and one full AC power outlet for every passenger. Large donations are sought based on the plans for a specific new Oasis and are then applied directly to the construction costs (either with a match from the Provost or on their own) of the space they are given for. Many have seen some of the completed Oases and wish to do something similar. As far as domestic services go, this was totally unremarkable, but in a good way. Other airlines like JetBlue may offer greater seat pitch, but I personally felt that what American was offering was sufficient enough.
